The tools and best practices needed for proper fiber termination will be discussed in detail during a web-delivered seminar that will broadcast live on Wednesday, October 27. Once the seminar takes place, it will be available for viewing on-demand for one year.
The seminar, which is scheduled to be approximately 60 minutes in duration, will include three presentations.
- First, Matthew Johnston, an applications engineer with AFL, will provide information to help users make an informed decision when choosing between preterminated and field-terminated connector systems.
- Then Robert Carlson, vice president of global marketing with Siemon, dives deep into field termination with a discussion of the connector styles available and the means by which they can be terminated.
- USConec's product manager Brian Teague concludes with a presentation on fiber-connector cleaning and inspection, weighing the pros and cons of different cleaning methods.
Attendees of the web seminar who hold certain professional credentials from BICSI can earn 1 continuing education credit toward the renewal of those credentials for attending the seminar in its entirety. Specifically, holders of the RCDD, Installer 2, Technician and Certified Trainer designations can earn a CEC for their attendance.
