CommScope Opens Real-World Fiber Network Training Center
CommScope recently opened the CommScope Fiber Architecture Solutions Network (FAST) Track, a real-world network environment where service providers can experience live fiber architectures in action. The facility, located in Catawba, NC, is a complete working fiber-to-the-home network that doubles as a training ground and innovation hub. Visitors can work directly with CommScope experts to gain practical insights into installation techniques, product interoperability, and network optimization.
The facility began hosting previews for CommScope customers in October, and the company held a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held December 3. “As service providers work to deliver fiber broadband to everyone, CommScope’s FAST Track plays a pivotal role in translating technology into tangible outcomes,” the company said on the day of the ribbon-cutting. “The facility is available immediately for providers who want to book a tour.”
“CommScope’s FAST Track facility represents the next step in helping service providers efficiently build and expand broadband networks,” said Michelle Hogan, the company’s North American region vice president for broadband. “The outdoor innovation and testing lab allows us to collaborate with customers in real-world conditions where we can help service providers and contractors shorten learning curves, accelerate design validation and test deployment strategies—ultimately reducing field time and improving rollout efficiency.”
“Built to replicate the networks that power communities nationwide, FAST Track brings the entire fiber-to-the-home journey to life,” CommScope continued. “From the central office to the customer premises, every fiber cable, splice, cabinet, terminal, and connection to the home is on display in a real-world setting. Here, you don’t just see the network. You step inside it.”
Danielle Marlow, product line manager with Netceed, visited the facility and commented, “What an incredible visit to CommScope’s new FAST Track facility and manufacturing plant. Seeing real-world network deployments up close brought broadband innovations to life, showing how every connection we build makes a difference for our customers. Experiences like this sharpen our perspective as we help service providers design and deliver the networks of tomorrow.”
