U.S. Secret Service seeking cabling contractor

The Department of Homeland Security, United States Secret Service has issued a soliciation for wiring and cabling installation services. Some detail of solicitation number USSS254604 is available on the Federal Business Opportunities web site. The work will be done at Secret Service locations in and around Washington D.C.

The statement of work says, "Contractor will perform a wide range of data cabling and wiring service on an as-needed basis." It details some of that work, including triplex Category 5e drops, duplex 62.5-micron multimode fiber drops, patching and as-needed service calls." The scope also includes relocating, testing and labeling existing floor boxes with voice, data and television wiring.

Contractors interested in the opportunity will have to act quickly; the response date is Wednesday, October 27.
