New fiber route passes more than 400 Princeton-area enterprises, educators, and government groups as well as four data centers in the area.

Business fiber network services provider Lightpath says it is now able to serve potential customers in Princeton, NJ, thanks to a new 54-mile fiber network extension.

The new fiber route passes more than 400 Princeton-area enterprises, educators, and government groups as well as four data centers in the area.

The Princeton fiber infrastructure will provide customers in the area with access to Lightpath’s complete fiber network, which comprises 18,000 route miles and more than 12,000 service locations.

The Lightpath network offers access to all major cloud providers, more than 75 data centers, and seven Northeast cable landing stations.

Lightpath will offer Princeton customers its suite of services, which includes optical transport (up to 800 Gbps), Ethernet (to 10 Gbps), internet access (to 100 Gbps), private networks, dark fiber, SD-WAN, voice, security and other managed services.

“Our entrance into the Princeton market enhances the Lightpath network in a region that is helping to fuel the digital economy. This area is rich with both technology and traditional enterprise-level business, pharmaceutical companies, an Ivy League research university, and vibrant start-up culture,” stated Doug Dalissandro, chief revenue officer for Lightpath.

The expansion into Princeton follows other recent new market activities by Lightpath in Boston and Queens, NY.
