January 14, 2009 -- HickoryTech announced that its Enventis division has earned Cisco's Advanced Data Center Networking Infrastructure (DCNI) specialization certification.
The DCNI certification recognizes Enventis, a Cisco Gold Certified Partner, for its knowledge and expertise in selling, designing, installing and supporting a comprehensive data center solution, including both infrastructure and applications. Enventis says the specialization affirms its investment and growth in business networking, and its expertise in the design, implementation and operation of next-generation data centers.
The DCNI certification coincides with Enventis' recent engagement to provide eight new Cisco Nexus 7000 network switches to a Minneapolis-Saint Paul-based customer--the first Nexus 7000 implementation in Minnesota. As Cisco's new flagship core network switching platform, the Nexus 7000 includes a modular system that delivers 10 Gigabit Ethernet, FibreChannel over Ethernet (FCoE), and a unified fabric in the data center.
Enventis has also invested in one of the first partner-owned Cisco Nexus labs in the country. Enventis customers can work with the company's engineers to test their data center applications using Cisco's Nexus 7000 and Nexus 5000 series switching systems at the company's networking lab in Plymouth, Minn.
"We're proud to include Cisco's DCNI specialization as part of our credentials, and the Nexus line of switches to our already extensive networking capabilities," comments John Morton, president of HickoryTech's Business Solutions division. "Our customers value our knowledge and experience in designing and engineering data centers. This combined with our network and hosted data center services enable us to build complex cloud-based IT services that drive both productivity and cost savings."
