July 15, 2009 -- APC by Schneider Electric, a supplier of critical power and cooling platforms, has expanded its NetShelter product line to include rack enclosures that can be installed in "open office" environments. Designed for space-constrained companies looking to create or expand a network closet or server room, APC says the NetShelter CX office enclosures offer integrated cooling, sound dampening and power distribution capabilities.
According to the company, the NetShelter CX eliminates the need for dedicated IT space and gives customers the ability to install a network closet or server room virtually anywhere. The enclosures combine high thermal capacity to keep equipment cool with superior noise reduction capability. They are housed in aesthetically-pleasing rack enclosures designed to blend in with professional environments. Built using a wood composite material, they are available in 18U, 24U and 38U sizes.
"IT managers and SMB owners often cannot find or build space for server and networking equipment and are typically forced to adjust or adapt to an unsatisfactory alternative," comments Dave Johnson, senior vice president, Home & Business Networks, APC. "APC's NetShelter CX Office Enclosures allow IT professionals the flexibility and convenience of deploying new or additional IT hardware safely into the open office environment."
