APC establishes data center software business

Unit is responsible for the InfraStruxure brand data center management product suite.

APC by Schneider Electric has formed a specialized data center software business that will advance software and management systems for data center physical infrastructure. The dedicated software staff within APC has responsibility for software development, offer creation, sales, service, marketing and partner programs.

The business's focus is APC's InfraStruxure management software portfolio, which is part of Schneider Electric's Ecostruxure architecture. APC says its InfraStruxure portfolio assists energy- and cost-efficiency improvements for data center users and is a tool for budgeting and planning. The vendor-neutral platform integrates with building systems such as building and power management.

The InfraStruxure portfolio includes the following software packages.

  • InfraStruxure Central, which performs data gathering and monitoring
  • InfraStruxure Capacity
  • InfraStruxure Change, for planning and optimization
  • InfraStruxure Energy, for modeling and analysis of energy use

Soeren Jensen, vice president of data center software for APC, leads this new specialized business.
