R&M has “realigned” its inteliPhy solutions to further meet customer and application requirements. R&M Product Manager, Dr. Sophia Borowka, spoke regarding inteliPhy stating, “We are developing inteliPhy into a consistently application-oriented suite with four application areas and up to seven software packages that all interact flexibly and work in a manufacturer-agnostic manner.”
In a recent press release, the company notes that the software “ has always been able to do more than just data center infrastructure management (DCIM)”. With that in mind, R&M’s software has expanded to three application areas. One of these segments is aimed at planners to use as a design tool with its included features for drawing and material list creation, cross-site infrastructure planning, and more. Using inteliPhy as a cable management system (CMS) helps with the infrastructure management of communications networks, public transport, and complex office buildings. Located here are all the functions for connectivity, compliance, sustainability, and asset management. “Its use as a DCIM tool covers an operations manager’s entire work area. The features support the monitoring of the active infrastructure, including IT equipment across several sites and asset management, which leads to increased availability, enables cost management and speeds up operational readiness.” The last module of the inteliPhy suite is automated infrastructure management (AIM) which allows for the real-time monitoring of passive patch panels, connecting hardware and software.
On top of the basic package inteliPhy Core, the three expanded software application areas Design, CMS and DCIM also have ready-made application packages. Visualizations, reporting, user management, and templates for the model library are automatically included. Customers have the ability to add or deselect application packages based on their needs. “The application packages offer solutions for KPIs, workflows, automation, geolocation, monitoring, AIM, capacity and asset management including warehousing, for example. R&M also supports APIs for connecting to other management and control systems.”
