JetCool Launches Coolant CDU for HPC and AI

Flex’s company, JetCool has released its cost-effective CDU to be used by both data centers and colocation providers.

JetCool, a Flex company, announced its new SmartSense Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU). The company’s CDU is the first in a portfolio that is in-rack, features liquid-to-liquid design, and delivers modular, cost-effective solutions to both colocation providers and data centers.

“As AI and high-density workloads push the limits of traditional thermal management, JetCool’s new SmartSense CDU represents a leap forward in scalable liquid cooling for power-dense racks,” said Rob Campbell, President of Communications, Enterprise, and Cloud at Flex. “By combining JetCool’s liquid cooling technologies with Flex’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and services, we’re enabling customers to address heat challenges while accelerating the deployment of data center infrastructure at scale.”

The SmartSense CDU delivers a maximum of 300kW per rack and over 2MW at the row level. This allows for what the company calls “true free cooling”with inlet temperatures above 60°C. This not only lowers water and energy consumption and gets rid of the need for chillers. If the CDU is used with JetCool’s SmartPlate cold plates the system supplies precision cooling made for performance, maintaining full processor usage even in high ambient environments.

Flex states that it will “ensure all SmartSense CDU units are properly installed and integrated, with system-level validation to support operational integrity from day one”. Flex also will have critical spare parts in stock and delivered quickly to reduce service interruptions.
