DENALI Optical Fiber Platform is Engineered for GPU Networks

AFL’s new platform adapts as networks grow, accommodating 3456 fibers in 4RU of rack space and support 10G to 800G speeds.

AFL recently introduced DENALI, a modular optical fiber platform the company says “is specifically engineered for high-growth GPU environments with minimal infrastructure upgrades. DENALI delivers leading-edge data center performance today while positioning the facilities of tomorrow to scale with the increasing complexity and volume of hyperscale and AI workloads.”

The platform’s modular design enables it to adapt as networks grow. It features rack-mount hardware, cassettes, and preterminated customizable assemblies. DENALI delivers up to 576 duplex LC fibers or 3456 MPO fibers in 4RU of rack space, and supports speed from 10-Gbit/sec to 800-Gbit/sec, AFL explained when introducing DENALI.

Components and systems in the DENALI platform include fiber housings, MPO fanout cassettes, splice cassettes, patch cassettes, MPO trunk assemblies, LC patch cords, along with other hardware and accessories.

“The market is undergoing a major shift, where AI-driven densification is transforming how data centers approach fiber deployment,” commented Marc Bolick, president of product solutions at AFL. “The DENALI platform was developed in response to this shift of handling faster scaling, reduced downtime, and solid reliability that AI workloads actually need.”

AFL further pointed out the platform accelerates AI cluster expansions, reducing time-to-market, keeping projects on schedule, and driving faster time-to-revenue along with stronger return-on-investment for infrastructure builds. The company in particular noted the following benefits of the DENALI platform.

  • Simplified deployment process—The platform’s design reduces the number of components required for installation, which streamlines inventory management and reduces potential points of failure.
  • Intelligent system integration—DENALI ensures seamless integration with existing infrastructure, which minimizes disruption during upgrades and expansions.
  • Enhanced fiber management—The platform’s streamlined cable management solutions reduce maintenance requirements and improve long-term network reliability.

These Tower Tech XR cooling towers use evaporative cooling to remove heat generated within the data center by IT equipment. Composite cooling towers are more compact and significantly lighter than metal towers. They arrive at a data center site pre-built.
Data center designers shouldn’t sleep on the benefits of fiberglass construction materials.
