Compu Dynamics Modular (CDM), a division of Compu Dynamics focused on modular data center solutions, has introduced two new platforms designed to address the growing infrastructure demands of AI and edge computing. The company developed the CDM L Series and CDM I Series to provide scalable, high-performance capacity for various applications.

AI and Edge Infrastructure Requirements

As AI workloads continue to expand, traditional data center environments are increasingly challenged by rising density, speed, and other demands. CDM’s modular platforms are engineered to deliver flexibility and rapid deployment, enabling operators to meet high-performance computing needs now while providing scalability for the future.

The CDM L Series targets high-density AI workloads, while the CDM I Series supports AI inference at the edge. Both platforms are designed and built in the U.S.

CDM L Series: High-Density AI Platform

The CDM L Series is best-suited for hyperscale AI and GPU-intensive operations.
Key features include:

  • Power capacity from 50–250+ kW per rack, scalable from 1.5 to over 3 MW
  • Dual-module architecture to support next-generation AI applications
  • Compatible with both hyperscale and colocation environments
  • Customizable base modules and open OEM integration

CDM I Series: Compact Edge Platform

The CDM I Series is made for edge deployments requiring fewer AI racks or lower IT density per module.
Key features include:

  • Power capacity from 50–250+ kW per rack
  • Support for up to 500 kW per module (air cooling) and 1+ MW (combined air and liquid cooling)
  • Compact design for simplified deployment
  • Suitable for telecom, healthcare, education, and government applications
  • Customizable base modules and open OEM integration

Scalable Design

CDM emphasizes the flexible deployment, open integration, and full-service support from evaluation to preventive maintenance offered with both platforms. The systems are “technology-neutral supporting multiple IT hardware and infrastructure OEM equipment sources with no vendor lock-in.”

“With AI pushing traditional infrastructure limits and no end in sight, we’ve developed two unique, purpose-built modular data center solutions for learning, inference, and edge,” said Ron Mann, Vice President of Compu Dynamics Modular. “These solutions ensure our customers never have to compromise.”

Steve Altizer, President and CEO of Compu Dynamics, added that the new platforms “are built to grow and evolve with the applications they support.”
