Cable installation pro Paul Neukam named Season 4 Cabling Icon

Owner of cable installation, design and integration firm SiteWise Systems, Neukam took home the Cabling Icon crown and all the swag that goes with it.

Cable installation professional Paul Neukam was crowned Season 4’s Cabling Icon on December 30, after the contest’s panel of four judges deemed him the most ideal candidate. When announcing Paul as the Season 4 winner, Cabling Icon’s organizers said, “Paul is the definition of a Cabling Icon—talent, skill, education, career advancement and camaraderie. As the owner of a small business, SiteWise Systems, Paul really understands the need for hands-on experience and education in the industry, and proved this in his Cabling Icon entry.”

SiteWise is headquartered in Huntingburg, IN and has a regional office in Indianapolis. The company states on its website that it “provides high-quality, value-driven communications systems in the Midwest and across the United States … Through careful attention to detail and extremely thorough preparation, we serve our clients well, providing accurate estimates, thoughtful designs, detailed project plans, reliable equipment, and unparalleled customer service.” The company is a BICSI corporate member and Paul Neukam holds BICSI’s RCDD designation.

As Season 4’s Cabling Icon, he has applied to compete in the 2015 BICSI Cabling Skills Challenge, a cable installation competition that will be held at BICSI’s Winter Conference the week of February 22. Neukam will represent SiteWise and Cabling Icon in the Skills Challenge.

Additionally, as the Cabling Icon winner, Neukam receives the $4,500 cash jackpot, the Golden Punchdown Award, an embroidered Cabling Icon leather vest, a TechTable kit donated by sponsor TechTable, and a set of 48 intelligent patch cords donated by sponsor 3P Design.

Season 4’s second- and third-place finishers also receive cash awards. Francisco Roybal, of Sandia Lightwave, takes home the $1,000 second-place prize; Mark Bazin, of Cristo Rey Jesuit, earned the $500 third-place prize. “Throughout Season 4, Francisco and Mark demonstrated determination, skill, professionalism and experience, and certainly gave Paul a run for his money,” Cabling Icon concluded.
