Ferret WiFi: A combination cable-pulling tool and wireless inspection camera

Ferret WiFi streams high-resolution video so a technician can see behind a wall or above a ceiling, while also facilitating a cable pull. A user downloads an app and views the inspection camera from a smartphone.

The Cable Ferret Company recently introduced the Ferret WiFi, a multipurpose tool that is a combination wireless inspection camera and cable-pulling tool.

“Cable Ferret has designed the world’s most functional WiFi multipurpose inspection and cable-pulling solution, which uses the latest technology electronics to stream high-resolution video to a smart device in real time,” the company explained. “The Ferret WiFi is suitable for an incredibly wide range of applications.”

The company further explained that Ferret WiFi was developed to enable faster, easier, and more-accurate visual inspections and installations for several industries, including cabling, electrical, plumbing, lighting and others.

“The wireless rechargeable IP67-rated camera has 720p HD streaming and comes with a built-in WiFi hotspot and a wireless range of up to 40 feet,” The Cable Ferret Company said. “On the front of the camera are six bright white LEDs that provide clear visibility even in complete darkness.

“Using the free app, it is fast and easy to save video and photos directly to your smart device. Perfect for helping to identify issues, who proof of a problem or proof of a repair that can support quoting and invoicing work.”

The Ferret WiFi Kit comes with accessories including a camera gooseneck to point the camera in any direction, a short rod for the front of the camera paired with either the hook or the magnet. The company says the Ferret WiFi is “great for pulling in cable or retrieving that tool you lost. A variety of thread adapters are also included for compatibility with the majority of threaded fish sticks/glow rods.”
