September 25, 2009 - Electrical and communications products distributor Graybar has expanded its presence in New York and New Jersey. The distributor will open a full-service logistics center in Carteret, N.J., to serve as the primary shipping location for the New York and New Jersey areas.

The service center will provide customers with fast access to the distributor's extensive local inventory, supported by its warehouse management technology and delivery service. In addition to the logistics center, Graybar also plans to move its sales, service and administrative employees into new offices: one in Nassau County, N.Y., and another in Middlesex County, N.J. The logistics center and both offices are expected to open by year-end.

"This enhanced service and logistics platform will greatly improve the vitality and growth of our locations in the New York and New Jersey area," comments Chris Olsen, Graybar's district vice president for the area. "By centralizing our warehouse and office facilities, we can better align our resources to serve our customers more effectively."
