U.S. Probation Office bidding out 300+-drop Cat 6 cabling project

Bids are due May 4 for the installation job that specifies 302 Category 6 drops across four office locations.

The United States Probation Office, Central District of California has issued a request for quote (RFQ) for the installation of a total of 302 drops of plenum-rated Category 6 cable in four of its offices. Those offices are located in Inglewood, West Covina, Lancaster and Santa Fe Springs. The RFQ was issued on April 23 and quotes are due by 4pm PDT on Friday, May 4.

The RFQ's "Special Requirements" section includes the following: All work must be performed by licensed and bonded Southern California companies and personnel. All works must be done by workers competent in the field for which they are sent to work in. Vendor must possess at least 5-10 years experience with data cabling and telecommunications. Vendor must receive authorization prior to the start of work to use subcontractors.

The project will involve installing Category 6 cabling to: USPO (United States Probation Officer) offices, SUSPO (Supervising United States Probation Officer) offices, cubicles/workstations, printer/mail areas, as well as fax lines and modem lines in each of the four offices.
