FOA video clarifies fiber-optic connector polishing technique

Easily duplicated method involves a simple postal scale.

Inasmuch as "the key to getting well-polished connectors is in the technique," a new video from the Fiber Optic Association (FOA) explains how to correctly calibrate applied pressure when polishing fiber-optic connectors. In the video, FOA instructor John W. Wajvoda demonstrates a method he developed for teaching students how to achieve "just the right pressure on the connector when polishing." The easily duplicated method involves a simple postal scale.
