April 1, 2009--Axis Communications' modular indoor- and outdoor-ready P33 Network Cameras are designed to provide high performance video, including HDTV image quality and multiple H.264 streams.

These fixed dome cameras support Power over Ethernet (PoE), and come in six models ranging from standard indoor models to vandal-resistant outdoor models designed to operate in temperature ranges of -40º to 131º F.

The AXIS P33 Series uses progressive scan technology, resulting in video quality in 30 frames per second, in full resolution. P3343 Network Cameras offer SVGA resolution, whereas the AXIS P3344 models offer 1 megapixel or HDTV 720p in compliance with the SMPTE standard in resolution, color representation, and frame rate (30 fps). The network cameras support wide dynamic range and day/night functionality, which Axis says enables clear images in daylight or dark lighting conditions.

The AXIS P33 Series provides multiple, individually configurable video streams in H.264 compression, designed to optimize bandwidth and storage without compromising image quality. Motion JPEG is also supported for increased flexibility. In addition, the remote zoom feature is designed to ensure that the viewing angle is optimized at installation for the scene and required pixel resolution. Other features include 2-way audio support and video intelligence, such as video motion detection, audio detection and detection of camera tampering attempts. In addition, AXIS P33 Network Cameras offer a built-in SD/SDHC memory card slot, enabling several days of recordings to be stored locally.

Axis says the cameras will be available in June through its distribution channels.
