February 4, 2009 -- HD Communications (Ronkonkoma, NY) has brought forth an all-in-one, in-wall Wi-Fi, data, VoIP, and PoE data port device designed especially for hotels, motels and the enterprise market.
"We listened to our customers and simply gave them what they wanted," offers Don Davis, HD Communications' president and CEO. "Hotels, motels and businesses require good Wi-Fi, a wired Ethernet connection, and the ability to plug in a VoIP phone as well as power it. The HD27000 is a small, PoE-powered 802.11b/g access point that is IEEE 802.3af PoE-compliant and is designed for locations wired or planning to wire for Cat5/Cat5e/Cat6 cable."
The HD27000 provides up to four SSID's so customers can set up both public and private networks. The device also has a front-located RJ-45 jack that is IEEE 802.3af PoE-compliant that can power a VoIP phone or simply provide a data port to the location.
"The HD27000 is a result of over two years of working with customers with our earlier in-wall product, the HD24613," adds Davis. "The VoIP industry is certainly an area destined for growth as large enterprises look to reduce their monthly costs."
The device was introduced at the Internet Telephony Conference & Expo East 2009 in Miami, Florida.
