Expanded-jaw pulling eyes place underground duct

July 2, 2010
The alloy steel tools accommodate 1.25- to 14-inch PE conduit.

General Machine Products recently added Expanded Jaw Pulling Eyes (EJPEs) to its line of underground pulling tools. The EJPEs allow for the protected pulling of duct and innerduct conduit. They feature a one-piece cone design with a full sleve that completely encloses the jaws. GMP explains that the expanding jaws help the pulling eyes fit firmly into conduit, while the sleeve prevents the expansion or rupturing of polyethylene conduit during installation and pulling. The EJPEs are made from alloy steel and are equipped with a swiveling-eye nut that allows for the attachment of a pulling line.

Available in multiple size, the EJPEs can accommodate 1.25- to 14-inch-diameter polyethylene conduit. The 10-, 12- and 14-inch pulling eyes are available through special order. GMP also offers a line of innerduct pulling eyes for conduit diameters under 2 inches.
