Versa-Cleave provides multiconnector compatibility, push-button operation, a diamond cutting blade, and debris disposal. It is equally effective on any style or brand ST, SC, or FC fiber-optic connector for both singlemode and multimode fiber. Developed as a companion to the manufacturer`s Thread-Lock family of fiber-optic connectors, the cleave tool is designed to accommodate all brands with a standard 2.5-millimeter ferrule size. Users plug a fiber-connector assembly into the tool slot and push the button. The tool`s diamond blade trims the fiber strand to a 100-micron length, leaving it ready for a final polish before installation. A debris cup catches fiber trimmings and retains them until the installer can dispose of them. The cutting-blade technology is good for more than 5000 cleaves. The tool`s polycarbonate body is shaped like a stopwatch and comes in a carrying case with a belt loop and hook-and-loop closure. Versa-Cleave is available as a stand-alone product or as part of the manufacturer`s Universal Tool Kit Plus.
