The FO-6 Fiber Optics Engineering Committee of the Telecommunications Industry Association (Arlington, VA) has named Steve Swanson as the new committee chairman. The FO-6 develops standards for the components of fiber-optics systems, including fibers, cables, splices, sensors, waveguides, and connectors. It also oversees the standardization of terminology and symbology relating to fiber optics. Swanson, who works as the manager of standards engineering at Corning Inc. (Corning, NY), will also remain chairman of FO-6.8, the Specification Structure and Processing Subcommittee. He will continue to participate in the Fiber-optics Local Area Network Section of the Fiber Optics Div. Swanson succeeds Ed Mikoski of amp Inc. (Harrisburg, PA), who served as chairman of FO-6 for more than a decade.

William J. Cadogan, chairman and chief executive of adc Telecommunications Inc. (Minneapolis, MN), has been named chairman of the board of directors for the Telecommunications Industry Association (Arlington, VA). Cadogan was the board`s vice chairman and has more than 20 years` experience in the telecommunications industry. He succeeds Ron Grawert, president and chief executive of MobilMedia Corp., whose term is expiring.

Vincent I. Olsen, general superintendent of stations and revenue at New Jersey Transit, has been elected secretary/treasurer of the Building Owners and Managers Association (Washington, DC). He has more than 20 years of financial and operational experience. At New Jersey Transit, he oversees a budget of more than $180 million a year.

Scott Boehm has been named manager of the Crescent Electric Supply Distribution Facility in Sturtevant, WI, while Steve Mehren has been appointed manager of the Rockford, IL, distribution facility. Carl Otterness has been named director of sales for Crescent Electric and will work out of the Dubuque, IL, corporate office.
