Y-connect Inc., a manufacturer of interconnect and custom solutions, has formed an agreement with Hagemeyer North America Inc. to distribute its products and services nationally.
The partnership is designed to provide Y-connect with increased access to key markets in the South and Southwestern United States. The new affiliation also allows the distributor to offer new products and services to its customers.
For Hagemeyer, Y-connect will provide a full-range of interconnect solutions, as well as the ability to offer customers specialty manufacturing capabilities.
Y-connect, based in Harrisburg, Pa., manufactures a full range of connectors. These include R/F coax, optical fiber connectors and cable assemblies, board connectors, I/O connectors, custom cable assemblies and bulk cable, supported by value-added services such as engineering expertise. Y-connect also offers consulting and design services.
"Hagemeyer representatives have access to our full range of products, but we also have capabilities beyond connectors," says Robert Shupp, vice president of operations and sales for Y-connect. "Hagemeyer will stock Y-connect products locally, so they can provide their customers with a full-range solution to meet their needs. If a Hagemeyer customer needs a special connector developed for a particular use, the Y-connect engineers can create a cable assembly, specialty product or sub-assembly for a particular need."
Hagemeyer is a distributor of products and services focusing on business-to-business markets in electrical materials, safety and industrial products, and other maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) offerings.
