Ortronics, Berk-Tek introduce Cat 6 NetClear system
Jan. 10, 2002
January 10, 2002--The connecting-hardware and cable maker promise system performance 3 dB better than the current Category 6 draft specifications.
Ortronics and Berk-Tek recently announced NetClearGT3 (www.netclear-channel.com), a cabling system that the manufacturers guarantee will perform 3 decibels better than the Category 6, Draft 10 channel specification. The system incorporates Berk-Tek's LANmark-2000 cable and cordage and Ortronics Clarity6 components.
According to Berk-Tek and Ortronics, NetClear GT3 offers optimal mated connector and cable balance, to minimize the impact of media change on the transmitted signal; higher signal-to-noise ratio, allowing 3-gigabit/second channel capacity; and connector elements tat are tuned to the center of the target de-embedded values put forth by the TIA.
Berk-Tek's LANmark-2000 product line received independent verification from Intertek Testing/ETL Semko, as meeting the TIA Category 6 Draft 10 standard. Likewise, Ortronics says its Clarity6's component compliance has been independently third-party tested and verified by ETL. The Clarity line includes modular 110 jacks, patch panels and patch cords, as well as 110 blocks and 110 cords.
