MRV-Luminent merger takes effect

December 28, 2001 Shares of Luminet ceased public trading on the Nasdaq at the close of business on December 28.

MRV Communications, Inc.'s planned short-form merger of Luminent, Inc. with a wholly-owned subsidiary of MRV Communications became effective on Dec. 28, 2001.

As a result of the merger, shares of Luminent ceased to be publicly traded on the Nasdaq Stock Market as of the close of business on Dec. 28. MRV has renamed the corporation surviving the merger as Luminent, Inc., which is wholly-owned by MRV Communications.

MRV Communications is a manufacturer of network infrastructure systems and optical components. The company, based in Chatsworth, Calif., has leveraged its early leadership in optical fiber technology into a portfolio of focused operating entities.

Luminent designs, manufactures and sells a line of single mode active and passive optical fiber components for high-capacity data transmission in the metropolitan and access markets.
