January 25, 2002--The UK-based infrastructure-services provider plans to incorporate the company's power-protection devices into its cadre of offerings.
Greenwoods Communications (www.greenwoodscomms.com), a UK-based provider of telecommunications-infrastructure services, has acquired Telecom Protection Technologies (TPT). TPT designs and manufactures hardware and software the protects against overvoltage and electrical surges in telecommunications equipment. The company also recently designed remote access signal units for the collocation market.
"We have worked closely with TPT for a number of years," said John Greenwood, founder and managing director of Greenwoods Communications. "Its excellent reputation for innovative custom design and manufacture of protection solutions was a decisive factor in buying the company.
"This acquisition is part of our ongoing goal to expand and strengthen the range of products and devices we offer, and ultimately increase our flexibility and service to customers."
