CommScope (www.commscope.com) recently announced that it has added fiber-optic connectivity components to its cadre of product offerings. Effective Thursday, September 19, CommScope offers connectors, adapters, fiber enclosures, and jumpers to enterprise network customers.

"We've seen how well the structured wiring solution has worked for our copper products," says Randy Crenshaw, CommScope's executive vice president and general manager for network products. "Now we are extending the same concept to our fiber-optic cables product line for the enterprise markets. Having these products available from our catalog will give our fiber-cable customers the opportunity to purchase virtually all of the connection components they need from a single source." A catalog containing the newly available fiber-optic connecting hardware is also available as of September 19.

CommScope makes these products available through its relationship with OFS (www.ofsoptics.com), which designs, manufactures, and supplies optical fiber, fiber-optic cable, optical-connectivity components, and photonics. Through CommScope's marketing alliance with OFS, the cable manufacturer provides the zero-water-peak optical fibers used to produce the LightScope ZWP product family.
