Minnesota-area IBEW Local celebrates 100 years

June 26, 2002--Local 292's gala will include a museum exhibit featuring early artifacts such as tools and equipment.

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW--www.ibew.org) Local 292, which serves the Minneapolis, MN area, will host a 100th-anniversary celebration next month at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

IBEW Local 292 members, industry leaders, and dignitaries will be present at the celebration, to be held July 13. The event will include a museum exhibit featuring historic photographs, mementos from early members, and artifacts including tools and equipment. The event also includes a reception, dinner program, and entertainment.

IBEW Local 292 represents 5,000 professionals who provide electrical construction, telecommunications, broadcast, and manufacturing work.
