October 23, 2002--Federal-Mogul's Roundit 2000 SE has passed UL's 1666 riser flame test.
Federal-Mogul Systems Protection Group (www.federal-mogul.com) recently announced that its Roundit 2000 SE protective oversleeve, used to protect and bundle electrical and data-communications cable assemblies, is recognized under Underwriters Laboratories' 2024A category for flame-resistance. It has been evaluated and approved for use in ducts or other spaces where cables are used in accordance with the National Electrical Code, as well as for general use applications.
Roundit 2000 SE is made of a woven blend of flame-retardant polyester monofilaments and multifilaments, and is manufactured from textile materials. The company says this construction allowed the product to pass the UL 1666 riser flame test. The oversleeve also passed the Fire Propagation and Smoke Release Test, CSA FT-4 (UL 1685) for use in general-purpose applications, the company says.
Roundit 2000 SE is part of a full line of sleeving and protective wraps originally manufactured by Bentley Harris, a company Federal-Mogul acquired in 1998.
