July 22, 2002--The Consumers' Association Research and Testing Centre brings 50 staff members and 53,000 square feet of office and testing space.
The ETL Semko division of Intertek Testing Services (www.etlsemko.com) has acquired the Consumers' Association Research and Testing Centre in Milton Keynes, UK. "The merger expands ETL Semko's performance testing capabilities and capacity, adding 50 skilled staff members, state-of-the-art testing equipment and 53,000 square feet of office and testing space to the company's UK operations," Intertek said in a statement announcing the acquisition.
"We are constantly building our suite of global capabilities to provide our customers with solutions that will support the success of their global marketing strategies," said Martin Lea, ETL Semko's chief executive. "The Research and Testing Centre's experience in all aspects of performance testing will provide our customers with the unique ability to highlight consumer- and culturally-preferred characteristics that will help to distinguish their products in competitive markets," he said.
The Research and Testing Centre was founded in 1957 to provide consumers with research-based advice and guidance about goods and services.
