Corning announces executive-management changes

April 29, 2002--Among the changes, the naming of Larry Aiello, Jr. as president and CEO of Corning Cable Systems.

Corning (www.corning.com) has announced changes to its executive management structure, including the appointment of a new president of Corning Cable Systems (CCS--www.corningcablesystems.com). Corning accepted the resignation of CCS president and chief executive officer Sanford D. Lyons. The company named Larry Aiello, Jr. CCS's new president and CEO. In the post, Aiello is responsible for worldwide operations.

Aiello has been with the company for nearly 30 years, Corning said, serving in a number of business and financial-management roles. His most recent role was vice president of Optical Communications for Corning.

Other management changes within Corning include the appointments of Alan T. Eusden as senior vice president, global business support services; Robert B. Brown as vice president and general manager, optical fiber; Geral J. Fine as sernior vice president and general manager of Corning Photonic Technologies; Dr. Mark A. Newhouse as vice president, new products and development for Photonics Technologies; and Pamela C. Schneider, senior vice president and operations chief of staff at Corning Optical Communications.

Corning Photonic Technologies now also incorporates the previous Opitcal Networking Devices group.
