February 8, 2002--Siemon connecting hardware will be used in Holocom's zone and 'tiny TR' products through an alliance the companies call Extensis.

The Siemon Company (www.siemon.com) and Holocom Networks (www.holocomnetworks.com) have formed an alliance to co-market their products and services in the United States.

The joint venture, named Extensis, brings together Siemon's technology in copper and optical fiber connectivity and Holocom's zone cabling enclosures. The system is designed to push network intelligence closer to the desktop.

The Extensis solution allows users to run their cabling through pathways that retrofit on the top of modular office furniture panel systems. The universal solution works with all modular furniture systems including Steelcase, Herman Miller, Knoll, DRG and others.

CK Siemon, vice president of reseller services for Siemon, says the partnership will enable both companies to market a single end-to-end solution. He says Siemon's Category 5e, Category 6 and fiber MAX outlets and patching equipment will fit neatly into Holocom's Active Gateway and Passive Gateway enclosures.

The Siemon Company, based in Watertown, CT, manufactures structured cabling systems and connecting hardware for voice, data and image technologies.

Holocom Networks, based in Carlsbad, CA, provides solutions that simplify the delivery of network connections to the desktops of Fortune 2000 companies.
