Anixter opens New Zealand office

February 20, 2002--Customers of the Auckland facility will be able to use Anixter's e-commerce ordering and tracking capabilities.

Anixter (www.anixter.com) has opened a sales and distribution office in Auckland, New Zealand, according to an announcement by Wayne Bogart, vice president of sales for the Asia Pacific region.

Bogart says Anixter will stock a range of products and offer its customers logistic solutions, as well as e-business opportunities through the company's "e-Anixter" online ordering and tracking capabilities.

"Our e-Anixter program will allow our customers to access our online catalog with more than 50,000 products at their fingertips," Bogart said. Customers can also track and monitor their orders through the same system.

"We very much look forward to becoming a significant force within the New Zealand marketplace," Bogart said.

Anixter has a presence in 180 locations worldwide, and a global inventory that exceeds $500 million.
