TIA publishes bulletin for telephone terminal equipment

Nov. 13, 2003
Nov. 13, 2003 - Bulletin specifies labeling requirements for the equipment.

The Telecommunications Industry Association has published a new telecommunications systems bulletin designed to specify the labeling requirements for telephone terminal equipment.

The bulletin is Telecommunications Telephone Terminal Equipment Labeling Requirements, TSB168-A.

This document specifies the labeling requirements for terminal equipment approved by a telecommunications certification body or a supplier's declaration of conformity for connection to the telephone network in accordance with 47 CFR 68.

Other labeling requirements may be applicable to terminal equipment for other reasons (e.g., U.S. Customs Service, safety, EMC). However, such requirements do not fall under the scope of this bulletin.

TSB168-A was created by TIA TR-41.11 Subcommittee on Administrative Regulatory Considerations and released in September. A bulletin is not a standard, but rather contains technical material that may be valuable to industry and users.

The TIA is based in Arlington, VA. For more information visit www.tiaonline.org.
