Draka USA chooses new corporate vice president of sales

Nov. 13, 2003
Nov. 13, 2004 - Andrew Hemingway will oversee company's datacom, utility and industrial/automation markets.

Joe Dixon, president of Draka USA, has announced the addition of Andrew "Andy" Hemingway as the new corporate vice president of sales and marketing for the company's datacom, utility, transit, irrigation, telecommunications and industrial/automation markets.

These markets are now listed under the Draka USA subsidiaries of Draka Comteq USA BIW Cable Systems and Tamaqua Cable Products. Draka Comteq USA manufactures the Helix/HiTemp Cables and Chromatic Technologies.

"Part of our corporate plan and goal is for each company in these vertical markets to utilize each other's research and development, as well as tap into unique manufacturing capabilities," says Dixon. "Because of overlapping manufacturing processes and applications that these markets share, the addition of Andy Hemingway will provide them with a uniform directive."

Those reporting directly to Hemingway include Bud Geary, marketing manager, and John Sullivan, general sales manager for the utility and industrial products group (Tamaqua); Jerry Petty, vice president of sales and marketing for the datacom division; Tom Reilly, vice president of rail and transit products and Bill Marinelli, inside sales manager for all three divisions.

Prior to joining Draka USA, Hemingway was senior vice president of sales and marketing for American Insulated Wire since 1997. AIW, a division of Leviton Manufacturing Co., Inc., is a leading national manufacturer and supplier of electrical and electronic wire and cable products. Prior to that, he was vice president of sales for 11 years for Alflex Corp., a leading manufacturer of aluminum flexible conduit, armored cable and innovative electrical wiring products.

Draka USA is based in Franklin, MA. For more information visit www.drakausa.com.
