Ripley Co. acquires products and assets of Amherst FiberOptics

Feb. 13, 2003
Feb. 13, 2003--The Hot Stripper and a line of splice sleeves are now available from Ripley.

Ripley Company (www.ripley-tools.com) has acquired the proprietary products and intellectual assets of Amherst FiberOptics from Communications Dynamics, Ripley announced. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Beginning immediately, Ripley Co. will add the fiber-optic tools acquired in the acquisition to its Miller product line. Two such notable products are the Amherst Hot Stripper and a line of splice sleeves. The Hot Stripper is a fiber-optic cable stripper that allows a user to strip and clean fiber-optic cable simply and precisely, Ripley says. The standard splice sleeves protect spliced fibers without fiber recoating, and reco sleeves exhibit the same features for small-diameter fibers. Ripley reports that it has the Hot Stripper in stock and ready for order.
