Intersil Corporation (www.intersil.com) announced that Linksys (www.linksys.com) is using the PRISM II chip set in its new Instant Wireless Network Access Point and PC card. PRISM II delivers an 11 Mbps data rate and is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.11b standard. The PRISM II reference design is Wi-Fi certified by the Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance (WECA) (www.weca.net).
