November 12, 2001 The group formerly known as Pinnacle Communications is now part of the Tyco Electronics family.

Tyco Electronics has announced the formation of AMP Netconnect Wireless Solutions (www.ampnetconnect.com), a systems integrator for its customers, handling needs analysis, system design, equipment installation, and maintenance contracts. The group was formerly known as Pinnacle Communications.

The new wireless services offering will enable customers that need high-speed, short-range communications links to successfully implement wireless connectivity between or within offices, Tyco said in announcing the groups introduction. These new wireless communications solutions represent a strategic alternative to underground or overhead cabling or costly leased lines with recurring monthly fees.

According to William Donmoyer, director of AMP Netconnect Wireless Solutions, currently many providers offer pieces of a wireless solution. For example, there are many manufacturers of wireless electronics. There are also companies that specialize in the sales and installation of these electronic components. Others specialize in tower installations. We do it all, Donmoyer says. We take full responsibility, so its true system integration resulting in a turnkey installation of the customers total wireless infrastructureboth within and between buildings of a campus or enterprise.

AMP Netconnect Wireless Solutions initially will focus on customers with wireless wide-area (building-to-building) needs. Donmoyer says, We anticipate that this is the are of most acute demand, citing the costs associated with alternative solutions.
