Slayton Solutions brings fiber-optic training to you
Sept. 6, 2001
September 6, 2001 Slayton Solutions is offering a new one-day seminar on fiber optics at the customer's location.
September 6, 2001 A new one-day seminar on fiber optics from Chicago-based Slayton Solutions (www.slaytonsolutions.com) takes an interesting approach to pricing. Customers pay a set fee, plus travel expenses, for an instructor to provide hands-on training for up to eight students at the customer's location.
"Our class includes only vital real-world information," says David Engebretson, president of Slayton Solutions. "In one day, students can learn what they need to become certified fiber-optic technicians."
The course teaches students to specify, terminate, test, and splice fiber. Each student constructs and tests a functional fiber link and takes a written test that emphasizes fiber-optic safety and performance testing standards. Other topics covered include optical budget planning, standard tools, equipment and connector types, and testing using optical loss meters.
