Corning Optical Fiber completes TL 9000 registration

Corning Incorporated (www.corning.com) recently announced that Corning Optical Fiber has successfully completed registration for TL 9000 Release 3.0 certification. TL 9000 is a set of quality management system requirements designed for the telecommunications industry. All of Corning Optical Fiber's North American manufacturing, design and commercial operations are registered to TL 9000, with the scope defined as the manufacture and design of singlemode and multimode fiber for cable and components.

TL 9000 registration encompasses the ISO 9001:2000 standard. Corning says that several of its representatives actively participate in the QuEST Forum, an activity in the global telecommunications industry aimed at improving the quality of products for customers through registration of suppliers to the requirements of TL 9000.
