Ideal Acquires Wavetek's LAN Division

April 9, 2001 Ideal Industries has acquired the LAN division of testing company Wavetek.

Ideal Industries (www.idealindustries.com) has acquired the LAN division of testing company Wavetek (www.wavetek.com). Ideal CEO Robert N. Lane said the acquisition adds certification-testing products to the company's current line of testers, thereby strengthening the company's offerings.

"It gives Ideal stronger product-development capabilities and provides products with a broader reach into new distribution channels, including those outside North America," Lane said.

Wavetek maintains sales and warehousing in Ismaning, Germany, and product development, customer support, and manufacturing facilities in San Diego, CA.

This is Ideal's second acquisition within 60 days. Earlier this year, the company acquired Sterling, MA-based Anderson Power Products, a manufacturer of power connectors.
