Berk-Tek names fiber-optic product business manager

April 28, 2008 -- Berk-Tek has announced the addition of Mike Connaughton, RCDD, as the company's fiber product business manager.

April 28, 2008 -- Berk-Tek has announced the addition of Mike Connaughton, RCDD, as the company's fiber product business manager.

Reporting to Todd Harpel, Berk-Tek's director of marketing, Connaughton is responsible for managing all of the company's optical fiber LAN product activities, as well as participating in the global Nexans' operational product management team.

Before joining Berk-Tek, Connaughton spent 15 years at Mohawk, a Belden company, focusing on fiber-optic product development and support. He has held various positions in technical support, sales, marketing and product management.

Connaughton has a BS in electronic engineering technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, and has achieved the RCDD designation from BICSI. Connaughton and his family will be relocating from Massachusetts to North Carolina, as he will be based out of the Berk-Tek fiber-optic facility in Fuquay-Varina.
