Taiwan company Korenix has unveiled its managed 802.3at-compliant high power PoE+ switch, the JetNet 5310G.

Korenix (Taipei, Taiwan) has unveiled its managed 802.3at-compliant high power PoE+ switch, the JetNet 5310G, which offers 8 PoE+ ports and 2 Gigabit RJ45 / SFP combo uplink ports, specifically designed to extend large megapixel video images over fiber at flexible distances for critical surveillance networks. The Din-Rail type switch delivers up to 30W power per port for enabling wireless APs, PTZ/dome cameras, WiMax systems etc.

The 2 Gigabit combo port design of the JetNet 5310G gives users the choice of employing RJ45 Gigabit high-speed copper links or SFP/Gigabit SFP links for longer distance fiber-optic connections with backbone switches, depending on application distance or speed requirements. The SFP ports' Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) function allows users to diagnose optical cable transmission and monitor long distance fiber quality

To ensure high quality, non-stop streamed video transfer, the switch incorporates network management, control and security protocols including IGMP snooping, QoS, VLAN, Private VLAN, QinQ, DHCP Option 82, LACP, as well as proprietary auto-discovery and network management technologies. The switch incorporates Korenix’s patented Multiple Super Ring (MSR) redundancy technology with extremely fast (5ms) recovery time, allowing transmission of reliable data through formed redundant copper and fiber rings. Moreover, to offer redundancy in control rooms with 3rd party switches, the JetNet 5310G offers MSTP capability, assuring broad usage of the device in industrial applications.

With its IEC 61000-6-2 / 6-4 heavy industrial EMC compliant design and -40~75 Celsius wide operating temperature range, the JetNet 5310G can withstand the harsh conditions of outdoor installations, making it suitable for use in high-end surveillance and traffic control systems, utility infrastructures, and other rugged applications.
