Fiber Instrument Sales, Inc. (FIS) has introduced its CrossFire, an automated, dual-wavelength, bi-directional fiber-optic cabling tester.

According to the company, the unit measures insertion loss and optical return loss to -70 dB and tests multiple wavelengths via a single port, eliminating the need to reconnect cables and zero-reference the equipment for each test.

The instrument tests fiber from both ends when two units are used, and supports storage for 1,000 tests.

Pricing for the instrument starts at $4,900.
