December 5, 2006 -- The provider of open platform IP video software has furthered its international expansion by setting up an office in Singapore.
December 5, 2006 -- Milestone Systems (Denmark), a provider of open platform IP video surveillance software, has opened a regional Asian sales office in Singapore.
The company says it has been building up sales in the region through authorized partners in a dozen Asian countries, and will be able to support the channel more comprehensively with its regional office.
"The authorized partners in the Milestone sales channel for Asia have been succeeding with larger project installations and increasing volume in general. This naturally calls for stepping up the company's support levels, both commercially and technically," comments Lars Thinggaard, CEO of Milestone Systems. "The Singapore office will provide this immediately with their demonstrated expertise in IP network security."
Lo Yew Seng was announced as director of Milestone Systems Pte. Ltd. in Singapore. Sally Tan was announced as sales manager. The regional office's first activities will include a series of professional training sessions in Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan to certify partners in the latest features of the company's XProtect Enterprise platform.
"As a part of our strategy, we want to have strong local presence and support for our customers in this area, who are increasing in number daily. We have high expectations for the success of this region - we also plan to open an office in China in 2007," says Mads Bo Frederiksen, VP of sales at Milestone Systems.
The company says its software's open platform approach allows for "value-adding effectiveness" through integration with other systems and devices, as well as efficient re-use of network infrastructure, and "the widest choice of supported hardware from more than 30 manufacturers."
"Milestone Systems is a world leader and we are proud to be working with the best-of-breed champions. We were recently at the GDSF trade show in Beijing, which confirmed that there is an overwhelming interest in the Milestone IP video open platform," remarks Lo Yew Seng, "This is an exciting time for the security industry with the many advantages of IP technology in great demand."
IMS Research (www.imsresearch.com), a market analyst organization for the global security industry, has determined in its latest report on video surveillance equipment that China will represent an average growth of 26% over the next five years, with Singapore also performing in double digits.
