Amey Co. plans expansion

July 5, 2006 -- The company announced that it will be expanding efforts to market products aimed at the data/voice/video market.

The Robert A. Amey Co., a marketer of electrical and data/communications products for construction, OEM, and maintenance markets throughout the Pacific Northwest, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska, announced that it will be expanding efforts to market products aimed at the data/voice/video market.

The company says the expansion is in response to the continuing move of traditional electrical contractors to the low voltage market. "Many of the same contractors we work with daily are being asked to complete data and voice installations," explains Jim Amey, president of Amey Co. "They aren't sure where to turn for help in product selection or installation."

The company says that many of its current products are being sold into this growing market. The company intends to expand its product offering for this market segment to provide a single source solution for distributor partners as well as end user installers.

To spearhead this effort, the company also announced the hiring of Jay Poe, previously the datacomm sales manager for Platt Electric Supply.

"Our early focus will be on education and training for our internal staff, our distributors, and most important, electrical contractors making the move to the data/comm market," comments Poe. "We also plan to work with key specification influences."
