Arnco Corp., a manufacturer of cable installation products and accessories, has introduced its Hydra-Seal Handi-Foam. Compatible with all common cable jacket materials, the foam is especially useful for sealing conduits and innerducts.
The company says the one-component polyurethane foam fills, insulates, and seals gaps, base plates, mud sills, top plate penetrations, corner joints, T-joints, exterior cracks, utility panels, pipes, and duct penetrations. With an expansion ratio of 2:1, the foam can be applied in environments with temperatures from 60 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Hydra-Seal Handi-Foam is packaged in a beige, 12 oz. aerosol can. The material is applied in bead form, via a one-piece straw adaptor, and expands and cures slowly to a semi-rigid, closed cell foam upon reaction with moisture. The substance dries tack-free in 10 minutes or less, and cures within 24 hours, says the company.
According to a press release, the company recently redesigned the packaging of its chemical product line by assigning color codes to product categories for easy user identification. Product categories are designated by the following colors: blue (Hydra-Lube lubricants), yellow (Hydra-Clean cleaners), beige (Hydra-Seal sealants), and burgundy (Hydra-Lube blowing lubricants). Each product also includes a symbol designating its use in seasonal weather (e.g. a snowflake indicating winter; a sun, summer).
Headquartered in Elyria, Ohio, Arnco manufactures a full line of cable installation products and accessories including conduit, conduit couplers, pull tape, sealants, lubricants, cleaners, cable placing equipment, and cable reel trailers. Serving the telecoms, CATV, DOT, and power utility markets, the company has also developed an integrated program ("The System") that it says improves upon all aspects of cable placement methodology.
