January 11, 2007 -- The Telecommunications Project Management Association (TPMA) (www.telpm.org) announced that it is offering expanded project management certification programs and new training options.

According to a press release, in addition to the association's current Telecommunications Project Management (TPM) certification, new programs will include: Project Manager (PM); Outside Plant Project Manager (OSP-PM); Wireless Project Manager (WPM); Data Center Project Manager (DCPM); CATV Project Manager (CATV-PM); Security And Access Control Project Manager (SS-PM); and Global Networks/Information Technology Project Manager (IT-PM).

Training options are also being expanded. In addition to the traditional 5-day certification class, a new "melded" Internet and "hands on" program will allow students to take 60% of the program (and associated exams) from their home or office via the Internet. The two day "hands on" program and a "Case Study Exam" completes the program.

The cost for the entire program including testing fees is $1499. Individual internet classes are $75. TPMA is also seeking new master instructors, and a "Train the Trainer" class is available.

TPMA is a BICSI Corporate member, and the program is approved for 35 CECs for RCDD, NTS, OSP, WD and 12 CECs for ITS Installer, ITS Technician, and Residential Installer.
