November 9, 2007 -- Video surveillance systems provider Vicon Industries Inc. announced that Mark Chekos has joined the company's sales team as director of national accounts. In the role, Chekos will build and support relationships with Vicon customers and strategic partners that have a national presence.
According to a press release, Chekos's experience in the security industry includes over 20 years with Honeywell International, as well as positions with Applied Marketing Group, a marketing partner for the security industry, and the Image Vault digital video security division of Fireking International Inc. Most recently, he worked to establish an extensive network of value-added resellers for Honeywell products throughout North America. He holds an MBA from Nova Southeastern University and is a graduate of University of New Hampshire.
"Our strategic partnerships with leading companies within the security industry are at an all time high, and having someone with Mark's experience and expertise in place to nurture these relationships and build new ones will undoubtedly contribute toward Vicon's continued growth," comments Bret McGowan, Vicon's vice president of US sales and marketing
Chekos will be based in Atlanta, GA.
Separately, Vicon also announced that it has hired a new rep firm, Legacy Marketing (Mentor, OH), to handle the sales of its video and security products and systems throughout the states of West Virginia, Ohio and parts of Kentucky.
