Siemon appoints global finance market manager

September 17, 2007 -- Siemon has announced the appointment of Mark Hawkins as the company's global finance market manager.

September 17, 2007 -- Siemon has announced the appointment of Mark Hawkins as the company's global finance market manager.

In the role, Hawkins will coordinate the company's global operations within the finance sector. His professional experience is in the management of relationships with major banks and financial institutions, dealing with end users, consultants, and "the channel," according to a press release.

Hawkins comes to Siemon from Systimax, where he was a global account manager and worked predominantly in London. Prior to this, he worked for WorldxChange Communications and Telewest (now Virgin Media), where he managed major accounts across a range of sectors.

In addition to his management qualifications, which include an MBA degree, Hawkins has electrical and electronic engineering qualifications, and began his career as a design engineer. He has worked as a senior designer for consultants such as Ove Arup & Partners, W S Atkins & Partners, and McDermott Engineering.

Hawkins will commence his new post with an extensive induction period at Siemon's head offices in Watertown, Connecticut, where he will be briefed by the company's executive board and the technical team.
