July 17, 2007 -- Agilent's new N2648A Alien Crosstalk Test Kit for the company's WireScope Pro instrument enables the validation of 10GBASE-T copper links in minutes, contends the company.
Test kits with one, three or six pairs of stimulators are available, allowing users to scale the overall test time through parallel stimulation of adjacent cables. To work with the Alien Crosstalk Test Kit, WireScope Pro units must have the N2643A-100 Cat 6A/ Class EA/F Software License installed, and be calibrated for Alien Crosstalk measurements.
Owners of older WireScope Pro models who upgrade their unit with an Alien Crosstalk Test Kit are eligible to receive a free initial calibration for Alien Crosstalk measurements. Check the company's software download page for details on eligible serial number ranges.
Also, the company's new ScopeData Pro II/ WireScope Pro software version is available after registration at the Technical Support / Drivers & Software area of the N2640A WireScope Pro Web site, here.
According to the company, new functions available with the free software update version 2.4.3.7. include support for alien crosstalk and external (ambient) noise measurements. The version also updates the cable and connector database and adds test limits for 10 Gigabit networks, as well as ISO 11801 Class EA (Channel) and ISO 24750 Class E limits.
